Traveller's Hotel

The Traveller's Hotel is an excellent example of an Edwardian-era, commercial style building. While wandering about this heritage town we stumbled across the Traveller’s Hotel and noticed a band of swastikas girdling the building.

This disturbing image was clarified by a plaque that explained in 1913 the swastikas on the brick façade symbolized good luck in Sanskrit and were commonly used as decoration during these times. My how times have changed!
